A free video and chat app

SAY NAMASTE Video Conferencing—or simply SAY NAMASTE—is a free Indian social communication mobile app that enables you to create or join video call meetings. Developed by Inscripts and published by CometChat, this video-conferencing app was designed for India’s use and is available for both mobile and PC with its web-based version. It features basic communication app functions but is more streamlined towards tight security and privacy for its limited target users.

A cheap alternative

Similar to Zoom, SAY NAMASTE offers easy video-conferencing capabilities that help in increasing productivity. By creating or joining meetings, you can do one-on-one conversations with a colleague or a whole group video call with your team. It only has a small capacity, however—up to 50 participants can be in one call—but this is enough for most tight-knit teams. It has other features, anyways, like screen-sharing on the PC version for online presentations and topic demonstrations.

Note that those on mobile can’t screen-share but they can still upload files. The app allows file-sharing during the video meeting, letting you have instant access to documents, images, and such. It also has a chat and instant messaging function. The interface is designed for user-friendliness—unlike other similar apps, there’s no login screen to bother with. However, your connection will still be encrypted and secure, as this is compliant with the ISO 9001:2015 certification.

This app feels like a great alternative to try out. Unfortunately, it still lacks several key features that would make it a tough contender. For one, unlike most of its competitors, it can’t set future scheduled meetings so you have to create one on the spot. There are also no configurable settings. Granted, it’s easy to use for those who aren’t familiar with such apps but it should still have advanced tools and settings somewhere.

Still needs some work

Overall, SAY NAMASTE isn’t really too special when compared to other video call apps that are popular in India. It has a straightforward interface and screen-sharing on top of its reliable chat and video call functions—however, these are basic features that feel normal when compared to the other apps. The lack of other handy features such as future scheduling and video settings set this app’s progress slower than most.

Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.
